Aboard a Xenia Catamaran Yacht Charter, a gastronomical adventure is guaranteed!
Top notch cuisine is one of the main features we seek when choosing which catamaran yacht charters to recommend. To this end, we frequently have to wine and dine on yachts, sampling an eclectic mix of food and indulging (sorry, I meant investigating) an array of unique wine pairings. Yes, it’s a great job perk, but also a necessity. Because only from personal experience are we able to offer you the best catamaran yacht charter experiences around. In the end, we do it all for you! Our tasty advice – set sail on a Xenia Catamaran Yacht Charter today!
Last December, we made our annual trek to the Antigua Charter Yacht meeting where we were fortunate enough to score an invite to lunch on the stunning luxury 74′ catamaran, Xenia, which sails the Caribbean and sleeps up to 8 guests in 4 lavish cabins including a lovely master king cabin with jacuzzi. All cabins have Apple/satellite TVs with 800 thread count sheets, cashmere throws and goose down pillows.
Sleek and elegant yet warm and cozy, she’s that ultimate hybrid between classic catamaran and sexy cruiser. The extensive use of hand polished woods and the refreshing décor sends a welcoming vibe from the moment we stepped onboard. If that’s not enough, her impressive arsenal of toys certainly highlighted the fact that Xenia 74 is as much about substance as she is about looks. Plus this gal is the only Privilege 74 available for charter in the entire Caribbean. She’s a step above her peers and is one of the reigning “queens” of the catamaran fleet.
Epicurean Xenia Delights
Now, back to the food. Kristine is one of those galley-geniuses that every reputable yacht charter broker wants to clone. After our sumptuous meal and an immensely deserved round of applause, we asked Kristine about the extent of her professional training. Eight jaws dropped when she told us that she had no professional training whatsoever! Zip! Zero! None! The exquisite cuisine and creative presentation we had just experienced had all come from her Mom, her self-teaching and her extraordinary and quite obvious passion for food.
The most astonishing revelation, however, was yet to come. Having just served a superb 3-course lunch to three vegans, one pollo-pescatarian and two undeclareds, she disclosed that less than 48 hours prior to the luncheon, her supplier admitted he’d forgotten her order and she was forced to re-do her entire menu based upon whatever local ingredients were available. Our gastronomic adventure aboard a Xenia catamaran yacht charter was the ultimate example of grace, talent and professionalism under fire. It’s what a great charter chef and crew does all of the time – make it appear seamless with guests even when havoc is dancing in the background.
With all of our competing food preferences, she essentially prepared two different 3-course meals in a galley that is smaller than most people’s hallway closets. And the end result was nothing short of extraordinary.
